I would like to introduce you to an unique opportunity to reach out to students in the Oak Creek Village Development.
Molly and Justin Richards, members of All Saints run the Youth Digital Studio (YDS). YDS is a local company that offers classes in digital design to students aged 8-18. They were just featured in the Durham Hearld Sun. They seek to turn consumers into creators by introducing the creativity of young people to the power of technology.
This March Youth Digital Studio is partnering with individuals and Churches who are invested in the Oak Creek Village community to provide classes for 6-12 under-resourced students. In addition to providing opportunity for creative discovery and instruction for these students, it is their sincere hope that the experience will give students an eye for the future and 21st century skills. As they learn skills that could connect them to future careers in technology we hope to encourage students to work towards real goals and develop skills that can lead to professional opportunities.
The students who will participate have begun a relationship with All Saints through the Eagle’s Nest tutoring program. It is our hope that these classes will help enable those relationships to continue to develop. The cost to provide a class is $150 per child. With the funds YDS has already raised through generous donations they are about half way to their goal.
Please consider donating to the fund that will allow these students to participate in the upcoming classes. All donations are tax deductible. Checks can be made out to All Saints Church with Oak Creek Scholarship Fund in the memo. For more information about giving, please contact Molly Richards: 919-766-0691 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your interest and support as we reach out to the community around us.
