Week 3 of Advent: Reflections on Joy

"The Light Shines Through". Original artwork by Barbara Barnes.

The third week of Advent begins with Gaudete Sunday. Gaudete is a Latin word meaning REJOICE! The theme for this week focuses on rejoicing in God and the importance of nurturing joy in our lives. In all that God has done for us in Christ Jesus and in knowing that he is with us and coming again in fullness, we can live as a joyful and redeemed people.

Third Sunday of Advent
Stir up your power, O Lord, and with great might come among us; and, becausewe are sorely hindered by our sins, let your bountiful grace and mercy speedilyhelp and deliver us; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and theHoly Spirit, be honor and glory, now and for ever. Amen.
